Grand Dynasty Industrial Co., Ltd (GDI) was established on March 1984 by Mr. Chung-Yi Lin (Dr. Lawrence Lin’s father).  Like so many other small companies in Taiwan during that time period, it was a family owned injection molding shop and was domestically oriented.

Dr. Lawrence Lin (President) ,graduated in 1989 with a PhD. in Polymer Science and Plastic Engineering from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Massachusetts in Lowell, Massachusetts. After working at a research center of a fortune 500 company in the Boston area for a few years, he joined GDI in November of 1993.

From 1993 to 2003, Dr. Lawrence Lin transformed GDI from a small, family owned injection molding shop into an employee owned, mid-size injection molding company focused mainly on the international market. Presently, customers from the USA, UK, and Germany comprise 98% of GDI’s business. Many of these companies are manufacturers of well known products.

In 2002, GDI expanded their operation into Ningbo, China and formed a joint venture company, TLC-Ningbo Plastic Co.   The organizational structure is similar to that of GDI in Taiwan, with a mold fabrication department, molding department, QC department and support people.  TLC also has the ability to do sheet metal stamping, stainless steel parts, and some small appliance production.

On January 2007, GDI-Taiwan moved into a much larger facility which allowed the addition of more equipment to better serve our customers current needs. Listed below you will find a description of GDI’s equipment and capabilities. You are certainly welcome to come and visit GDI in person.
